20 Most Recent Curtis MPK2066 MP3 Player Questions & Answers

I had the same problem but have now resolved as follows. Turn the top switch to on and connect via USB port. Picture should come on the mp3 player indicating it is connected. For some reason unknown to me in order to charge you need to turn the MP3 player on - but this is impossible if there is no charge. What you need to do now is leave the MP3 player connected like this overnight - it will then have gained enough charge in the morning so that when you then disconnect the MP3 player from the USB lead you are able to actually turn it on. PLEASE NOTE this is not turning on by the switch at the top. What you do it press and hold the circle/dash symbol i.e. at the bottom of the white keypad bit on the front of the MP3 player. As you then let go it comes on. Let it finish turning itself on, then reconnect to the USB lead and leave over night to get a full charge. Good Luck

Possible cause:
- Look at your mp3 file naming standard paying particular attention to the suffix (eg. must have either .MP3 or .WMA for music) and overall name length (some players impose an arbitrary max length for efficiency!).
- Look at the 'properties' of your 'working' songs and those that do not appear: the songs are encoded/compressed and not all 'audio bit rates' will be supported by your specific player (128kbps fixed bit rates usually works well)

Hello Chris,

The battery could be drained and needed to be plugged into usb to charge. In here, the computer is the one supplying power to the MP3 player so it turns on. Try charging it further like one hour before you take it off. Also, please remember that all USB devices, especially mp3 players should be "safely removed" to avoid it being fried. To safely remove, click on the green usb icon on your lower right corner of your computer and click "safely remove device..". Wait until it tell you that it is now safe to remove your usb device.

Now if it still wont work, the player might be defective and since it is still new, please dont hesitate to return back and ask for replacement as this player might give you other problems later on. Since it is under warranty it would save you further cost.

It might not be able to work again depending on the extent of damage incurred. The most important thing to remember about any wet electrical/electronic device is to NEVER turn it on while there is still moisture present. It must be totally dry inside and out before turning it on. This may take several days or longer depending on ambient temperature and humidity.
