GE 30 in. JGP337 Gas Cooktop Questions & Answers
Igniter clicking
I have a stove that doesn't light (click) I've replaced the igniters, I've replaced the knobs, and I've replace the box all the igniters and plugged into. There's nothing else to change out and it still doesn't give a spark. I've got gas and electricity but nothing will light
Stained gas range burner grates
Hey y'all. I have the same lame GE profile gas cooktop with the gray grates and burner covers. I know this is the expensive way to go, but I use Easy-Off "self-cleaning oven" oven cleaning spray. For about $5, you get 3 cleanings. It is a pain to do, but I have better things to do than scrub these grates all the time. I don't know why, but the baked on crud just drives me crazy. I tried everything to clean them completely. I even tried to scrub the darn things with a kitchen pumice stone(sold at walmart)but it is impossible to get the curvy areas clean. Now the paint has started to wear off on the burner covers.
I do not use the oven cleaner on the cooktop itself. I use soft-scrub with baking soda, then cover the cooktop with a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil and cut out holes for the burners. This keeps most of the spills contained, and helps with cleanup.
I visited to the GE parts web page, and they only sell gray grates and covers. I am going to buy black BBQ grill paint(spray can)from Home Depot and try it on the burner covers first. They are the least expensive to replace if it fails, and if it works, I will paint the grates with this high temperature paint. I will keep you posted on the results.

Switch from lp gas to
Hi,
Some ranges have the conversion orfices right on board and for others you will need to order a conversion kit. Your manual will have the directions if the kit is on board. If there is no directions then look at most any of the appliance parts websites under your model number for the conversion kit.

I have ge jgp337 .
I've seen this problem before. It happens when spillage get's into the ignitor switches. The switches are mounted on top of the gas turn-on valves. You have to replace all the ignitor switches because they are connected into wire harness.

The electronic spark continues after the burner is
You have one of your spark switches sticking. It may have come loose or possibly grease has migrated into it.
Remove the switch panel and check the switches for a loose or broken switch.
There is a switch behind every surface burner knob.
They must be seated firmly to work correctly.
Ingiters don't work - all burners
Unplug cook top. remove drip pan with screwdriver. Use hair dryer to completely dry area that might have gotten wet during cleaning. This may take five minutes. Put unit back together and plug in cook top.
Burners only work half way
Remove the burner knobs, inside of each shaft is a straight slot screw adjustment, use a flshlight to see it. Sears has screwdrivers this small. While holding the shaft with a pair of pliers turn the screw in the shaft, it will be hard to turn, this is normal.
Continue doing this until you obtain the desired flame setting.
Gas Flow
suspect problem is with the regulator on the gas bottle as it would be unusual for all burners to be faulty at the same time. try substituting a new regulator
