Toreduce water spotting, the shelf and itsgrille should be cleaned regularly. If no water is dispensed when the refrigerator isfirst installed, there may be air in the water linesystem. Press the dispenser arm for at least twominutes to remove trapped air from the waterline and to fill the water system. To flush outimpurities in the water line, throw away the firstsix glassfuls of water.CAUTION: Never put fingers or any other objects into the ice crusher discharge opening.Locking the DispenserPress the LOCK CONTROLpad for 3 seconds tolock the dispenser andcontrol panel. Tounlock, press and hold the pad again for 3 seconds.Dispenser LightThis pad turns the nightlight in the dispenser onand off. The light alsocomes on when thedispenser cradle ispressed. If this lightburns out, it should bereplaced with a 6 watt 12 V maximum bulb.Quick IceWhen you need ice in a hurry, press this pad to speed up iceproduction. This willincrease ice productionfor the following 48 hours or until you press the pad again.Door AlarmTo set the alarm, pressthis pad until theindicator light comeson. This alarm willsound if either door isopen for more than 3 minutes. The lightgoes out and thebeeping stops when you close the door.Spill ShelfImportant Facts About Your DispensernDo not add ice from trays or bags to the storage drawer. It may not crush ordispense well.nAvoid overfilling glass with ice and use of narrow glasses. Backed-up ice can jamthe chute or cause the door in the chuteto freeze shut. If ice is blocking thechute, poke it through with a woodenspoon.nBeverages and foods should not be quick-chilled in the ice storage drawer. Cans, bottles or food packages in thestorage drawer may cause the icemaker or auger to jam.nTo keep dispensed ice from missing the glass, put the glass close to, but nottouching, the dispenser opening.nSome crushed ice may be dispensed eventhough you selected CUBED ICE. Thishappens occasionally when a few cubesaccidentally get directed to the crusher.nAfter crushed ice is dispensed, somewater may drip from the chute.nSometimes a small mound of snow willform on the door in the ice chute. Thiscondition is normal and usually occurswhen you have dispensed crushed icerepeatedly. The snow will eventuallyevaporate.13
