Windows will begin to stop functioning little by little if it's not activated. Mind you, this happened to me with Server 2008. Finally it would start, but I could do nothing.

This could be happening to you.

Any computer shop can remove the password for you in a few minutes. I use Hirens Boot Disc when I need to do it. But if you don't know what you are doing you can wipe or corrupt the Operating System.

Installation or uninstallation of an application or game fails and gives the following error code:

This issue is due to a previous installation not finishing properly

Solution 1. Rename the Installshield folder

Make sure you've enabled Show hidden files and folders.

Find and rename the Installshield folder:

Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Installshield

Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Installshield

If there is an Installshield file in the Common Files folder, rename that one also (e.g. to Installshield_OLD).

Solution 2. Remove all traces of previous uninstall

If renaming the Installshield folder had no effect, find and delete any traces of uninstalled applications.

Applications that can assist you are: Revo Uninstaller, Windows Installer Cleanup Utility , CCleaner.

Alternatively, do a manual clean-up:

Close all running programs. Then clear the Temp folder (found via input of %temp% in Start > Search or Start > Run).

Use the Windows registry editor to delete registry entries related to the program.

Restart the computer.

hope this helps

If you have not burned a set of recovery disks, I believe when you boot up you can get to the recovery partition. During the boot with the splash screen on (the thing that says VIAO in the begining), start pressing the F10 or F12 key. This should bring up the boot options and allow you to boot from the recovery partition and restore the computer back to factory settings. If you burned the disks for the computer, just place disk one in the drive and boot.

Hope this helps and it was what your were looking for.

you will need your installer for your OS, try to repair it but if not work, then you will need to re-install your OS as a FRESH COPY, meaning to say all your files will be deleted.

the cause for this problem is that the software you use is conflict to your OS

Supplying product keys for Microsoft products without paying for them is theft and piracy, both of which can create issues for the fixya website and the good things we do here. Please do not ask for keys here. Also members who supply such keys are violating the terms of use issued by fixya, and can have their accounts terminated. Yes they can come back with a different user id and email address, but they are jerks, and don't care about honesty and integrity. most computers have keys on them, usually have a COA sticker somewhere on the case. MS Windows (ALL versions) and Office (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Publisher) are NOT free, and keys should be purchased.
