The cooking range vent (downward draft system) will go up, but the fan speed control switch stopped being able to be turned off. It still goes from Hi to Lo speed, but since cannot be turned off, its always running if the vent part is raised up. I have no idea what to do. I couldnt even feel any screws around it that I could open and look inside it. Thanks

We have a downdraft cooktop vent that has a down (when not in use) and up (when in use) position. After my wife, put cleaning solution on the up/down switch, the vent remains in the "up" position. The blower, however, works fine.
I am guessing that the cleaning solution shorted out the switch. I bought another switch, but alas, I cannot figure out how to get into the housing to replace the existing switch!
Can you help me with step by step ideas about how to get into the housing and "switch out" the switches?
Thank you for your time and help.
