HT1000

Hi bonkuman,

To my knowledge the Motorola HT1000 is not a trunk system radio, it is as a "conventional" 16 channels two-way radio. Motorola classifies this radio as intended for Government & Enterprise. In my country, we call them "Commercial" radios as oppose to "Amateur" radios. In a way, yes they may be termed "professional" as their claimed performance and durability exceeds those of other radios. Incidentally, the Motorola HT1000 has been discontinued and was replaced with the PR1500.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Communications

Hi,

Yes, but depends on the configuration/setup and programming/frequency assignation of the MTS2000.

To my knowledge, the UHF version of the Motorola MTS2000 are designed to operate either in the 403~470Mhz or the 450~512 or 520MHz band.

On the other hand, Motorola TalkAbout Radio are design limited to operate in the FRS band which is 462.5625~462.7250MHZ and/or the GMRS band which is 462.550~467.725.

So technically, both the MTS2000 and the FRS/GMRS share some frequencies. What needs to be done is to re-program the frequency allocation of the MTS2000 into its channels to match the TalkAbouts frequencies. The other way around is not possible. TalkAbouts frequency assignments can not be reprogrammed/changed. Below are typical TalkAbout Channels/Frequencies.de11c4e.jpg

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Motorola Radio Service Software

I hope you are in the old dos program, Just open your c:\mrss\ht1000\archive file and delete away in DOS. Keep a few vhf, uhf, low band 800 & 900 mhz archives just so you have something to work with in case you blow up a radio while programming. If you want to keep it all just hook up a old ZIP drive and copy everything. Good Luck

The radio can only be programmed or adjusted by the use of a computer and the proper software. What exactly is it doing or not doing? Do you keep it on the charger all the time?

Having Trouble Receiving Through"TPL"

Are you sure that you are using the exact RX Frequency? is the radio in 25Khz if this radio is working on 12.5Khz with the IF filters changed to work in narrow band (12.5) could happend this.
Do you know if the repeater is on parameters mostly of the cases when an over modulation is received this will cut the PL modulation for short periods.
If the radio transmit over modulated could "erease" the PL modulation for short periods.
I think this radios should be checked all the Tune parameters to make sure is ajusted properly.

Good luck

INEED HELP

Hi,

A Motorola MTS2000 is a government issue 2-way radio, hence user manuals are restricted. You can try ordering them with Motorola (800‑422‑4210). I was made to understand that manual part number starts with “68” and ends with a “-O”. Version would depend whether you have the I, II, II versions in either VHF, UHF, 800 or 900 MHz.

Since this is your 2nd posting of this model and based on your profile however, I would assume that your requirement is technical in nature (field programming, repair, maintenance, etc), perhaps a Service Manual would fit you better.  It is available   here in pdf. A Spec Sheet is  here  likewise in pdf.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Programming

Why buy a radio you cant program? I suggest you google for Motorola authorized radio shops in your area. Unless you have the software and equipment to do it, you won't be able to. You will also need letters of authorization for any channels you wish to have programed for transmit. If your a HAM or GMRS user be sure to bring a copy of your licence.

Constant tone on an HT1000

You will get a constant tone on any channel that isn't programmed. it sounds like the previous user ha a freq programmed on channel 1. Channel 11 is strange, but possible. Usually guys program these radios in order.... they don't put 2 freqs in soo far apart from each other..... I would expect channel 1 AND 2 to have freq programmed in them.... but channel 1 an channel 11 is strange... but possible. Anytime you don't fill up all the channels on these radios (commercial radios in general) you will get a constant tone on the channels that don't have anything programmed in them. Program the radio and your good to go. If you don't program freqs into al the available channels, expect to hear that "constant tone" on any unprogrammed channels. The channels that you hear a tone on do not have a freq programmed into it. Its normal. Good luck

This tone indicates that there is a problem with the radio, I tried to find in the service manaual the meaning and just says " due to nature of fatal ROM and RAM errors it may not be possible to present an error code on the display, in there cases the radio will attempt to display the aproriate error code, generate an ellegal mode tone for one second and reset its Up." I hope this can help you

I have a pair of Motorola MS350 radios. 1 works fine but one does not receive or transmit. I have both radios set up the same.

If your frequency and code are set the same, you have either a battery problem or a radio problem. For a quick battery test, swap the battery pack from the good radio into the one with the problem and see if the problem moves. Then you will know if it is simply the battery. If both settings are identical and the battery swap does not solve the problem, you have a defective radio.

I need help to dismantle a motorola radius sp10 2 way radio

Remove the battery, slip a small screw driver into the slot at the bottom of the radio between the outer housing and the battery tray, gently pry up. If your radio has a pair of battery contacts on the exterior they will come up with the tray. Be gentle, and do not disturb the Mylar ribbon that runs down the back of the tray. Once the tray is removed, using a frame removal tool (shaped like a squared letter U) you slip the tool in the channels on either side of the radio where you removed the battery tray. Then slide the tool upward until it meets the two plastic ears. The tool will slip under the ears and using your tool you can push the component board out the top of the housing. If your radio has an 8-dip-switch private line board, you may want to watch you do not damage or dislodge it in the process.

Can the Motorola factory replace the battery in the H730 headset?

It is possible to have the battery in your Motorola H730 headset replaced, but it would likely need to be done by a third-party repair service as the battery is not typically user-replaceable. Motorola does not offer an official repair service for the H730 headset, so you may need to find a third-party repair service that specializes in repairing Bluetooth headsets. Be aware that third-party repairs may void any remaining warranty on the device. You can also consider purchasing a new headset if you prefer not to have it repaired.

I have two older Motorola Walkies Talkabout FR60 wont send or receive and a T5820 with the rubber broken off the antenna is is cost feasible to fix or not

I believe for the FR60 walkie-talkies, if they are not sending or receiving, the issue could be related to the antenna, battery, or internal components. You can try replacing the batteries and/or antennas to see if that resolves the issue. As for the T5820 walkie-talkie, if the rubber on the antenna is broken, it's likely that the antenna itself is also damaged. In this case, you can try replacing the antenna with a new one. Antennas are typically available for purchase online or at electronics stores. In terms of cost, repairing older walkie-talkies like these may not always be cost-effective. If the repairs are extensive or require replacement of major components, it may be more practical to purchase new walkie-talkies instead. Below are options of the options of walkie-talkies you can buy; ir?t=emerald014-20&language=en_us&l=li2&o=1&a=b071kjlcjv
