Olevia 237T 37 in. LCD TV - Page 6 Questions & Answers
The tv will just shut off and we cannot turn it
This could be caused by poor ventilation on the unit. The back of TV
sets where the air vents are usually located are meant to be easily
accessible to air. When they do not have enough air then the Tv tends to
shut itself down due to overheating when it geths too hot.
Try relocating the TV position to an airy environment.

It seems that your T-Con Board is not Working. It is located inside top/back part of the Panel. Try to replace it with the original Part number. Hope this helps your TV. Thanks
Yesterday, I powered on my Olevia tv and I had a
This one is a common problem for L.C.D screens. 6 screws that attach the inverter board to the LCD gray metal bottom loosen over time, causing the TV to periodically lose video while retaining audio. Sometimes turning the TV off and on again restores video, sometimes not. The problem gradually gets worse making the TV unusable.
To fix it yourself is a time consuming and difficult task, although you need no additional devices to be replaced. The disassembly and assembly may eat a lot of your time. But if you are still interested get yourself a service manual (must have came with the t.v or you may download it) and follow the disassembly instructions given in it. Go through the following steps: Stand Disassembly, Back Cabinet Disassembly, Angle Back Disassembly and LCD Cover Disassembly.
Once the LCD cover is removed, on the left side you can see the metal cover of the inverter board and the six screws holding it down, the very screws that we have been looking for! Remove the six screws and the metal cover. Without disconnecting any of its connections, rotate the inverter board up and to the left to expose the bottom of the inverter board as well as the gray metal bottom of the LCD to which the inverter board is attached and grounded. Note the 3 copper rectangles on the bottom of the inverter board surrounding the 3 screw holes away from the left edge towards the middle of the TV. These are the grounding strips that lose their connection.
Using contact cleaner clean off any black burn marks from these connectors. Also clean all black marks from the grey metal bottom that they contact. Clean carefully and thoroughly. You might need to scrape lightly to remove all marks.
Rotate the inverter board back in place. Line up the metal inverter board cover. You can either use the 6 existing screws or purchase replacement screws (only if you are not satisfied with the old ones). Using a removable thread locker coat the screw threads of one screw. Tightly screw in the middle edge screw first. Follow this by the edge top and bottom screws, then the middle inner screw, and finally the top and bottom inner screws, using the threadlocker on all 6 screws. Verify that all screws are tight.
Now start the reassembly in the reverse order of your disassembly. If you have done everything fine, you can find your t.v working fine.
Best Regards. Thank You.
Blue power light is on but tv will not come on olevia 237T11
I know this post was a while ago, but I stumbled upon a solution to my tv just recently. I don't know if this will work for everyone's tv, but I find it hard to believe that this would only fix my tv with the same issue.
I opened up my tv and found that the placement for the connection for the power cord is poorly designed. For one it is very loose. Two, I don't know much about circuit boards but the connector has 5 prongs. Two of which are part of the same piece to both, I think, to anchor it down and ground it (it looks like it's part of the actual ground wire.) and the other three which I assume power the board. Those three are not completely soldered on completely e.g. they have holes in the soldering. The last thing I noticed is the ground wire is crossing the board and touching one of the coils.
As my tv got worse it started making a "short" sound. When I opened it up, I removed the connector and insulated the wire more. Also, I anchored it down tighter using the two prong piece (just made it tighter by pushing it down more and folding the prongs against the board and soldering it). Last, I re-soldered the 3 prongs, completely covering them. Put the tv back together and viola...it came back on and no problems.
I hope this help and I hope this makes it around to all the people who have this tv. It"s not a bad tv just a poorly designed board.

Check on power supply for bad caps first either bulging or leaked and replace with same type. I order mine from newark electronics go with the vishays if the caps need to be replaced. That model is known for main board issues as well. Grab a usb cord plug it into computer and into the tv it has worked for some people.
Tv fades to black very low sound or or goes to
This is not a "digital" problem that can be addressed in your setup or fixed at home. This sounds like a fading power supply. Often electronics fail slowly or partially.
You will need to consult a TV repairman.
I hope this helps!
