Where is the starting capacitor for a amana gas dryer

Dryer motors do not require start capacitors. Their is multiple windings in the motor and a centrifugal switch. When the start button is pushed all of them windings are on and when the motor gets up to speed start winding drops out. Amana dryer lea60aw.when dryer is plugged in and door open, timer is ticking and recently replaced heating element is giving off heat-does the timer need to be replaced? or is it a thermoststat/ etc.?

It should not be on sounds to me like the cent switch inthe motor needs replacement. Common on amana dryer motors, not too hard to fix. See if it slides easy by hand and oil it cleaning out any lint that may have accumulated in the swtich. The job of the switch is to power on the heating element ONLY when the motor gets up to speed and centrifugal force slides out wrights on the switch allowing for power to go to the heater element . Switch stuck most likely, let me know. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61

Dryer no heat Amana LEA80aw

Before checking the normal suspects. Motor switch, thermal switches, and element, pop the control panel forward. Look at the two big wires on timer. Orange and black on mine. If they do not look pristine and shiny replace terminals. After taking drum out to check switches for naught, it was bad wire terminal on timer.

Drum in Amana dryer has dropped leaving a gap on back wall at bottom where it meets drum. clothes get torn & marked. How do I access & fix?

Tumble drier drum bearings are often nothing more than strips of felt stuck or clipped onto a pressed steel flange or a similar simple idea. They give good service but don't last forever and eventually metal-to-metal contact happens and if repairs are neglected the steel flanges are also worn away and the drum begins to tilt... I have fitted several felt bearing kits and twice have needed to weld in some steel to restore a flange. The job usually entails almost completely dismantling the casing.

My dryer doesn't heat up well

Airflow is a big determination on these. Check the outlet air with the ductwork off. If it is good then you have a restriction in the duct work, if it is not, then you have a fan problem. You should clean the unit at least once a year.

Buttons all work but drum will not spin and it shows code f01

You dont mention make! Does it start program then shut off or does it fill then not turn? First part of any program is to pump out any water left from it previous program .if something is blocking pump (bra wire/coins/hair bobble etc) it will shut down and putup a code.if its the brushes in the motor or belt broken it will start then pump then fill then may carry through whole program as it doesnt know its drum isnt spinning.or it will detect and show fault code.replacing brushes in motor is for somebody who knows what theyre doing.but its straight forward and brushes are cheap. Pumps blocking again common but most people can clear a blockage via a door at bottom of machine.water will ome out so take drain tube and hold in a bucket at ground level first
