Won't light with new batteries and bulb
look where the batteries go and make sure there is no crud or corrosion in the housing or on the spring in the end cap .if you remove the bulb and check the voltage using a multimeter ,if its under 3 volts you have a bad connection somewhere in the housing.
I could not unscrew the
Counter clockwise to get bottom cap off. They're usually pretty tight because cap is steel and tube is aluminum. Grab tube with pliers and try turning cap
Batteries are stuck in the flashlight. How do I
If they are stuck, they have probably leaked and the flashlight is probably corroded already. But here are two suggestions. Get a heavy piece of string and tie it securely around the flashlight at the lens end. Tape it on with duct tape for good measure. When hung by the string the lens end of the flashlight should point up and the open end should point down. Stand in a place with lots of space and no windows or pets or people around. Swing the string over your head to generate some g's. The batteries may come flying out. Another suggestion is to drill a hole in the battery, put a long screw in it and pull it out. Wear safety goggles. If the second battery is also stuck you will need a long drill and a longer screw.
Good luck.
How to battties in a mag light.
The bottom unscrews. When you get the bottom open, screw the top(where the lightbulb is) down further.Hold the flaslight almost sideways and slide the batteries in,then turn the flashlight back up so as not to let the batteries slam. The little positive nipple goes in first for both batteries. After you screw in the bottom, then you can adjust the top end for proper usage/operation.Greg

Maglite 3-d batteries will not unscrew battery access cap. even used rubber for grip and use of channel lock pliers. all aluminum model.what else can I do to remove cap to access bat.
I'm gonna catch it for this but this is how I did it. Corroded batteries in the cylinder will eat and seize the aluminum threads on the end cap and it's pretty much toast after that.
What I did was drill, yes drill a 0.125" (1/8") hole exactly .25" (1/4") above the seam between the end cap and the tube .0125" (1/8") into the tube. No more than that or you will jeopardize the integrity of the waterproof factor.
Drop one drop of a quality penetrating oil, or even diesel fuel, into the hole every hour while randomly tapping the tube with a metal object to create a vibration to help the penetrating oil travel throughout the threads and dislodge the corrosive hold on your end cap.
It might take a couple of days to loosen it up and try it with your channel-locks and a lined vice or strong wife. Just plan on gaining 1/32" movement and go back and forth until it gives up the grip. That process might take another day too. Keep adding the drop of penetrating oil along with the tapping religiously.
It WILL work provided your patience holds out. Don't force it... well, not too much anyway. You can actually save it this way.
Corroded batteries stuck in a mini AA maglite
yes the bulb assy can be removed as it's basically the switch you need like a special tool for removing it. but first which brand of battery is in it. both energizer and Duracell have warranty about replacing item that the battery has damaged. try that route is my suggestion before trying to remove batteries and possibly breaking the switch. you can get one sent to you by calling up customer service as i replaced one before mini mag lite also.
