Pentair MASTER TEMP HEATER 400 000 BTU NG LOW NOX HD EXCHANGER Questions & Answers
Pentair Master Temp Heater is not heating and
Definitely bad thermistor Pentair reps have seen this happen a lot. Lick finger and touch the two contacts where the thermistor plugs in it should fire up if it's a bad thermistor. If you do an ohm reading you'll find that the ohms do not correlate with the temperature that's displayed. I just trouble shot one and I'm getting 51.2 ohms which equates to 10 - 20 degrees Fahrenheit which is obviously not what is being displayed because it's 126 which is a common number that's displayed when a thermistor is not reading properly
How do i replace the stack flu sensor?
Remove the side panels, now youre able to remove the wing nuts securing the top, now you can see all of the wires and components. Depending on the age of your heater, youll have a stack flu switch or stack flu sensor. To find the sensor, start at the exhaust vent and follow that black exhaust pipe till you get to the head of a bolt with 2 wires sticking out. Remove the wire connections, and unscrew old part, install the new sensor, you can not wire this up incorrectly, so its not important to mark the wires.
No readout on on board. No on light when pushing on pool button
No power being sensed, check main.
if power to heater, check for voltage at transformer: both primary and secondary.
if primary reads whatever voltage you supplying heater, then check secondary, if 0, bad transformer. If 24-28 volts, then circuitry is bad, further diagnostics required.
