Standard Horizon HX460S 2-Way Radio Questions & Answers
I have hx 460 but no manual. It is in the locked
Most of the time if your handheld is in a locked status, there will be a single button that needs to be held for usually about 3 to 5 seconds to unlock it. Some Standard radios have a botton with a Key symbol. If your's doesn't have a botton like this, try holding each botton for 3 to 5 secs (1 at a time).
Standard Horizon vhf stuck at screen message "EE-PROM initializing"
It sounds as if the radio needs to be reprogrammed. It could also be a cold solder joint causing the problem but my guess is the radio needs to be reprogrammed. If you purchased this used, it is very likely that the frequencies were removed prior to the sale. OR, the EEPROM was removed to make surre that the frequencies were removed. It's typical practice for radio shops to do this to prevent unauthorized use on radio frequencies.
Where is the taxi radio wiring taken from the battery or fuse box?
Usually from the battery, but it all depends on the installer. Most of these istalls have been poorly done by people that don't have a clue. ower should be taken directly from the battery with a fuse at the battery terminal. This will reduce electrical noise heard on the radio.
How to wire a fridge thermostat
Wiring a fridge thermostat typically involves connecting the thermostat to the power source and the compressor. Here's a general guide for wiring a 3-pin thermostat:
- Identify the Pins: The thermostat will typically have three pins labeled 4, 6, and 3.
- Connect the Power Source: Pin 4 is usually the common (C) terminal, which connects to the power source. This could be the live wire from your electrical supply.
- Connect the Compressor: Pin 6 is often the normally open (NO) terminal, which connects to the compressor. This allows power to flow to the compressor when the temperature rises above the set threshold.
- Ground Connection: Pin 3 is commonly the ground (GND) terminal. This should be connected to the ground wire for safety purposes.
