97 kia sportage making hissing noise and white smoke by driver windshield
Yikes, that sounds like an antifreeze leak. Most likely it is just a hose with a hole or crack. Lift the hood and try to see where it is coming from. One thing you must do is check the level of antifreeze or you could ruin the engine. If a red light comes on the dash, you will need to find a safe place to park and turn off the engine before it can overheat and be ruined. If you are not familiar with anything under the hood, you are best off taking it to an independent shop that has been recommended by another person.

Re: Can't
seem to get spedometer to work.
Most likely the
ground speed sensor is not working. It is located to the right side of the
hydraulic pump behind the cab. #1 or 2 in diagram depending on which
transmission you have.

2008, 6430 mowing with batwing after about 1/2
Are you powering it with the PTO? If not and your plummed in to your remotes you MUST return hydraulics straight to sump and not thru the SCV's. Just put 1 on a 6430 Premium with tracks

JD 6400. My hydraulic is
Its a low transmission/hydraulic pressure.First, make sure your transmission fluid level is at the full mark. Also check if fluid is getting leaked from the lines. It's possible the fluid may be getting too hot. Check to make sure your radiator fins are not clogged. Pull the screen in front of the radiator and clean it, flush the radiator with water from the backside, you may need to pull some shields from the side of the engine to do this. Also as you mentioned that you hear a noise,it can be bad pressure sensor.
It is located on the front of the transmission, above the transmission filter. If you have a pressure gauge, you can verify if it has good pressure. Also for buzzing sound,
flush the hydralic system and fill it with fresh oil and if that dosnt work take the pump out and flush it manualy. Check the oil condition and relief valve. If the valve is getting stick the clean the valve and if oil is very dirty then replace the oil.But if oil is replaced just few months before and looks good then no oil change is required.-----------
check out.this troubleshooting will point towards the faulty part. This should help.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

What special tools to use to remove the starter of
I took one off yesterday, (the type with two bolts) and managed to get it off with just ordinary spanners. I had to take all the bolts out of the bonnet and side panels, and lift it up about 12" to get a spanner at the bottom bolt! Its awkward, but it can be done!
