Pentair White/Gray Legend Platinum Automatic Pool Cleaner - Ll105pm - Page 5 Questions & Answers
My wheels wont move
Check to make sure that you do not have a blocked impeller. I would also check to make sure that you dont have something stuck in your drive train. The only other thing that could cause an issue with these
pool cleaners is if you are not getting sufficient water flow.

It will not stay on
Either you have an air pocket in the cleaner,or your backup valve is bad.The backup valve is the baseball sized unit on the hose going to the cleaner.

My Legend cleaner (8 yrs. old) starts off fine but
First check the metal screen inside the fitting that connects to the pool wall. Make sure it is clean. If there is no inline screen on the feed hose then the jets inside the pool cleaner could be clogging. If there is a screen that keeps getting clogged with debris(like every couple days) then there is a problem with your pool filter or multiport valve that is allowing dirt to pass into the pool cleaner and the pool. Also it could be the back-up valve hanging up(due to a bad bearing or bushing) The back-up valve is the large canister on the feed hose about 3-6 feet above the cleaner. Check for holes in the feed hose and in the cleaner tail.

Wheels not turning.......... gear?
Check the metal debris screen inside the fitting that connects to the pool wall to make sure you have good pressure. If dirty then clean the screen. Then check the hose to make sure there are no holes. Look at the inside of the front wheels to see if the teeth are stripped. If they are then switch the back wheels to the front. If they havent been switched before the back wheels should have good teeth. If there is no inline metal screen on the feed hose then the jets inside the cleaner could be clogged with seeds or some type of debris. Also could be a bad internal gear or bearing that is seizing up.

Will not go in reverse
If you still have good pressure to the pool cleaner itself than the back-up valve mounted on the hose needs to be replaced. If you have low pressure then check the metal screen(usually found at the pool wall inside the wall fitting). Also check the hose itself for holes and check the sweep tail for holes.

My Pentair legend pool cleaner is not moving
On this
automatic pool cleaner, this is usually an easy thing to fix. First, make sure that your filter bag is clean and free of obstructions. Next, take of your head float and shake it. If you can hear water inside, you will need to order a new head float and install it. They are usually inexpensive and easy to replace. Make sure the hose floats are evenly placed and make sure that the cleaner is not getting too much pressure from the return lines.

APC Legend II "tail doesn't move"
. lay the unit on its side on the deck and then turn on the booster pump there may be a hole in the side of the hose where water is shooting out and you may be able to cut the hose a little shorter then re attach it soo the hose is no longer losing pressure from the worn out portion on hose cause by wear and tear. if hardly any water is comming out of the end of the tail whip and there are no leaks on sides of hose. check to see if the adjustment screw needs to be adjusted also look inside the hole of the end of the hose fitting itself preferably while unit is on and pressure is going thru it stick a salfety pin or water pick into the hole there maybe a piece of dirt or plastic chip blocking the hole you may need to remove the hose and force water backwards thru the hose to get the piece that is blocking the water out

Pentair legend 4 wheel cleaner - runs over its hose
check the white float on the cleaner. take it off and shake it, if it is full of water you will need to replace it. when they get water in them they make the cleaner heavy and it will tip of on its side.

The backup valve is not working
There is no schematic available. They don't sell replacement parts fot the backup timer either. Your best bet is to replace it.

Cleaner lacks power won't climb sides
Hey Walt, Check the hose swivels. Alot of the time the hose swivels leak water which defreases the flow to the cleaner. Also, depening on the model Letro cleaner you have, it could be the gear teeth in the wheels. epoolshop.com

This could be many things, If you take apart your hoses and get about a twelve or fourteen foot stream of water with the pump running then you have a problem in the head. Something as small as a grain of sand in your jet that drives th turbine that drives the unit is common. You should check all your hoses and swivels for leaks and your backup valve may be stuck partely through a cycle and dirverting water away from the head. I hope this helps. Good luck with it.

Legend 2 pool cleaner auto back-up feature stopped working
Make sure you have a clean filter and clean wall fitting screen. Pull hose out of water and lay it so you can watch the back-up mode go through its mode. The housing might be crack and have a leak which might not give the valve enough power.
