It sounds like the carborator has a drain ****, with a hose attached so it doesn't get gas all over everything. The reason to do this is to drain condensate once in a while. See if you can find a small drain valve and check to see if it is closed. Then add some more gas and wash away!

Some soap injectors have an adjustment that must be turned to allow or increase the amount of soap that enters the line. To make it work, install the blace tip on the wand (black tip has a very large hole/nozzle). With the black tip installed there will be very little pressure in the discharge hose and soap will enter. If your machine does not have an adjustable injector you dont need to do anything for it to work. If soap does not enter, stop enging and turn off water. Remove the injector fitting and check for debris. There is uaually a spring and checkball (very simple design).

MY PUMP DELIVERS HARDLY ANY

There is a valve on the water pump called an unloader valve, when this valve sticks open it will not allow the pressure to build. This valve is designed to recirculate the water when you release the trigger so you don't damage the pump. Go to jackssmall engine repair.com and type in the model # of your unit and it will give you a parts breakdown so you can see where the unloader vale is located or if you have the manual for your unit look in that. Remove and clean. If this doesn't work you may have to replace it.

with most pressure washers, the soap is mixed before the pump. in order for this to work correctly you must use the black spray tip. It is much larger then the others and delivers the soap at a much lower pressure. put the soap tube in the soap solution and it will be drawn up and out the tip.

Have a 2400 karcher press. washer engine starts

It sounds like the fuel bowl is not filling quickly enough. Turn the fuel tap off. Then take the fuel bowl off the carby. You will see a plastic float. Above the float is a needle (small pin like) that should shut the fuel off & let it run also. Turn the fuel back on,the fuel should be running out quickly. Push the float up and the fuel should stop running. If no fuel is coming out then the needle is stuck. Clean with carby cleaner and push up & dowm a few times to ensure it is working OK. You may need to replace needle. Turn fuel off. Put fuel bowl back on and turn fuel tap on. Test.

Can not start the engine

Here is the long answer with everything we learned while using a power washer twice a day for years::

It sounds like could be one of the problems listed below or a combination of those things.
1) The exhaust is partially blocked. Check the screen covering exhaust port for carbon and dirt build-up. High-speed exhaust air must pass freely. We finally broke the exhaust screen out with a screwdriver to get our machine going one day.
2) Gas is not flowing freely to carburetor > under gas tank, find the rubber hose connected to carburetor. Pull off rubber hose and make sure gas flows freely. You can use this hose to drain gas tank of old gas ... and then put in fresh gas.
3) Carburetor is partially gummed up and engine cuts off when gas flow slows down. Buy some gum out, and then don't store power washer with gasoline in the tank. Or put additive in gas when storing machine.
4) The choke is letting in too much gas or not enough gas. Try different adjustments. The choke-lever on our power washer got so bad that we could not set throttle at full open or the machine would die. We still use the machine at 2/3 throttle, and then start it each time using WD-40 as described below.
5) Dirty air filter that won't let engine breath enough air to keep up with combustion. Take off air filter and see if problem persists.
6) The spark coil is going bad?? Change spark plug to see if problem persists. Is spark plug wire pushed all the way onto the spark plug?

Now the nitty gritty: we're gonna start that thing right now
7) Take off air filter. Spray WD-40 directly into carburetor. Yes, we use WD-40 every time to start my power washer, and we use the washer twice a week.
Spray in the WD-40, Pull the engine cord. The engine will fire on WD-40. Guaranteed.
Once it starts, keep spraying WD-40 directly into carburetor to keep engine going.
If engine will not fire and keep going on WD-40, then your spark is suspect.
If your engine fires and runs on WD-40 but dies without it, then your gas supply or carburetor are suspect
8) Carburetor problem >>> try Gum out >>> and then take machine to small engine repair shop
9) Spark ... take out spark plug. Put spark wire back on. Hold spark plug by spark wire. Touch metal threads of spark plug to metal opening where plug came out. Metal to metal. Pull back start cord and look for spark between the metal.
If you have no spark, then spark coil is bad >>> take machine to small engine repair shop

The engine starts cold after 2 or three pulls,

I would first try draining the carb bowl, if you look at where the choke lever is and look below that you should see a clear red tube with a flat head screw below that, if you just turn the screw out the carb will drain. If you still have an issue you are going to have to clean the carb.

How do I fix a

It can be the inlet filter where your garden hose connects is clogged, so check that first. Also make sure that the hose is connected tightly and not pulling in air both at the inlet and outlet. Remove the spay nozzle and use a pin to make sure it is clear on and debris. Pull the trigger wait until you see a constant flow of water, and all air has been purged from the system. Then attach the high pressure nozzle. Black nozzle is for low pressure. Also make sure you are using at least a 5/8" garden hose and no smaller with the water turned on fully. Check the hose for kinks and obstructions. If all this checks out you may have calcification. Use the black low pressure nozzle and a gallon of distilled vinegar and inject it through the unit to remove any calcification. If none of this solves your problem then there is a problem with the pump itself and you will need to call Karcher for repair or replacement of the pump. Although your unit has a thermal relief valve, you should not run this unit for more than 5 minutes without pulling the pressure washer trigger or it will overheat and damage the pump. If you find you need a new pump here is one for $142. http://www.pwoutlet.com/KARCHER_LEGACY_26_30_PRESSURE_WASHER_PUMP_p/8.920-004.0.htm

Pressure washer does not spray consistent flow of pressure

Pressure washers have a pressure regulator/unloader that bypasses the water back into the intake when you let go of the trigger with motor running. If you let the machine run for long preiods in bypass the system could be damaged due to heating of the water being bypassed. The water is in a closed loop. The as the unloader wears it will tend to want to bypass which is what is happening in your case. Dirt trapped at the tip will cause this also. Install clean tip to solve problem. If clean tip did not help then try lowering the pressure by turning pressure regulator counterclock wise. If problem is gone then parts are failing but keep using pump. Good luck.

How do you use the tube for the detergent

Put the tube into a bucket with detergent that is recommended for your machine then put the wand into low pressure mode and if it has a valve where the hose connects turn the valve to the on position and pull trigger and watch to see if soap starts being drawn out of the soap bottle if it starts pulling the soap up continue to allow it to flow till you get your part soaked with soap, then let it set for 10 minutes then hit it with high pressure hose to wash off, when it is clean then put it on low pressure and pull hose out of bucket with soap and then allow the soap to be pulled out of tube and until there is no longer any soap coming out then store the hose for use later. some machines have a control valve at the end of the wand by turning the tip or pushing tip in or pulling it out some models requires you to use quick disconnect fan tips to lower pressure to use soap.
