no info generic answer on most remove rear cover panel to access trans axle or axle --for mid size plug lower section under linkage --small ones no service port ------on larger with a transmission plug on side

There should be 5 positions for the gear selector.

Neutral
Reverse
Forward 1 wheels only
Forward 2 wheels and tines reverse rotation
Forward 3 wheels and tines forward rotation

If you have reverse tines only, then the problem is internal to the transmission. My guess is the wheel drive chain.

First I would double check that its routed correctly. If you still have the old belt, compare it to the size of the new one.

Should be able to find the manual on line, giving the diagram for the belt positioning.

basic diagnostics do not include parts list. is there fuel in the tank? is the fuel getting to the carburater? pull the plug, is fuel in the cyliner? wet plug? Does the engine turn over when ignition key is turned? is there a spark when the engine turns over. are all controls set correctly? driver in seat safety switch working transmission in neutral, blades disengaged. throttle set to start. parking brake on?
