The XL attahes with a 1/4 or 3/8" camera screw or via an Arca compatible QR. If it is not tight on your tripod the problem is probably in the tripod head.

Hi, Folks!

I just cracked the Velbon's DV-700 tripod head mounting screw, that is on the top of the extending column. I need a replacement for this. Screw is on the top of the column.

Any suggestions?

Thank's in advance

Try www.TripodQuickRelease.com for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I've seen.

Tripod heads have standard thread sizes, 1/4" or 3/8" so you will have to check size. You can get an adapter if its different.
Same brand should be same thread so you should be ok to change.
You just have to try it to see.

I presume this is a tripod, although you have not stated. On good quality tripods, the head attached to the centre column with a screw thread, either 1/4" or 3/8". Grasp the centre column firmly, and rotate the existing head anti-clockwise, first checking to ensure there are no grub screws restricting its movement. When you have removed it, attach the replacement.

Is a manual or instruction leaflet really necessary ? Tripods are actually amazingly simple to use. You spread the three legs (three legs - 'tri'-pod) and place them firmly on level ground. Then you attach the camera, camcorder, spotting scope or whatever to the top, and use the equipment as desired.

Unless you have added an adjustable head to this monopod (in which case you need the QR plate appropriate to that head), it appears to feature only a standard 1/4" thread screw, which has in and of itself no QR capabilities.
Please pass this info to your friend Anonymous.
