Brother MFC 7820N, I am getting "Toner End Life"
I fail to see why you are covering up the toner sensor led's when you have a new cartridge fitted?
Also if you are using a recycled toner from a very well known uk shop that refills toners and ink then you may well have broken the drive gear that stirs the toner. i have seen this six times and their toners do this.
It could well be one of the pitfuls of recycled toners.

I have a Brother MFC-7820N.
Hello,
Replacing the unit might not still solve the problem, because sooner or later, you will still face this same problem again, i will advice if you can discard or sell the stock on the unit you still have at hand and adhere or go for a better option that will be cheaper in maintenance, this will save you alot of stress and money by so doing, but replacing the unit might still bring you back to square one again.
And on the MFC 7840W, you are still required to adhere to their maintenance instruction, otherwise, you will face same problem.
Take care.

MFC 7820n 'close back door error'
Hello Daysinn,
The "back cover open" message is usually caused by a paper jam inside the printer.
Follow these steps to rectify the problem.
1. Unplug the power to the printer.
2. Open the back and front cover.
3. Remove the drum and toner, this may be difficult because it may be stuck; don't be afraid to pull hard, you wont break anything.
4. Check for any foreign objects, most likely a peice of paper.
5. Reinstall the drum and toner.
6. Make sure to close the front and back covers.
7. Turn the power back on.
If the message stays after all this, there may be a sensor not working.
Thanks,
Pat

Brother MFC 7820N Printed paper has toner ink
you can remove the toner and drum from the machine, slide the tab back and forth about 20 times then blow in the slot. when you put it back in the machine if the problem keeps happening it would be a problem with the toner cartridge and it would need to be replaced
the reason this happens to toner cartridges is because the rubber roller tarts to wear out.
