Two possibilities: one bad, one not so bad. If you've recently dropped the camera you've likely damaged the lens tube (housing), and the camera will require professional repair. Before you panic though, the problem that you described is frequently battery related. Make sure that your batteries are the correct type for the camera, and that they are fresh/fully charged. If the batteries are OK, the problem is frequently due to corrosion on the contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, wipe the ends of the batteries, and replace them in the camera. This cleaning process works about 90% of the time, and I hope that it cures your problem.

Use lithium (non-rechargeable) high energy batteries for best results. This is clearly a power supply problem. If it doesn't work, send it back for replacement. If the batteries are self-contained, ensure they are fully charged using the charger supplied with the camera. Remember, rechargeable batteries are only good for a maximum of two years. Cameras, in general, do not work well with rechargeable batteries as the voltage is less, i.e.; 1.25 volts vs. 1.5 volts per AAA/AA/C or D size battery.

i too facing the same problem with same model of camera

What Operating System are you using? I.E. Windows Vista or Mac OSX?
First you can make sure your cord on both ends is plugged in fully? If so, assuming its USB, plug it into another port. Restart the computer and then try it again. If this doesnt work, check to see if the software that came with the device is installed. Try uninstalling the software and reinstalling it again. This will hopefully refresh the driver and find the device if somehow lost it.

Yes you can, check your power settings and in there, you can put a timer whether sleep mode or timer when the unit will be turned on or off...
