The Ice Maker on our Kitchen Aid Superba Model KSCS251 stopped working. Water is still being dispensed, the ice maker control is turned the on position, I have unplugged the refrigerator and plugged it back in. Freezer temp has been reset to 0 and then it goes back up to 11 degrees. Nothing seems to obstructed in the ice maker. Nothing is frozen over. Thanks, Danny Bob

I would suggest not buying a KitchenAid. I have the same problem with my ice maker. Have had nothing but problems with every KitchenAid product that I have ever owned. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.
All of there appliances are second rate. That is "The KitchenAid Difference"

It seems like it might have been opened too far and now when the door closes, it pops open about 1/2" and stays open. When I close the door it seems to seal and close OK but won't stay closed. I was wondering if replacement of both hinges (top and bottom) would solve the problem. It is a Kitchenaid KSRB27FHSS02 manufactured in 2-2000 side by side.

The lower hinge on each door
may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this
assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not
seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if
it rises up when opened.
Part 12 on this diagram is your cam. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=KSRB27FHSS02&productCategoryId=0165000&brandId=0593&modelName=SIDE-BY-SIDE-REFRIGERATOR&diagramPageId=00006&componentDescription=REFRIGERATOR%20DOOR&documentId=O2030395&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list

We've tried everything recommended in the troubleshooting section of the manual, but our ice maker still isn't making ice! There is ice in the maker (that hasn't dumped into the storage compartment) so I'm thinking there must be something wrong with the 'compartment full' sensor. The red light next to the on/off switch (for the icemaker) is blinking. I cleaned both the originating and sensing portions of the light beam that registers when the compartment is full, still nothing.

Thanks for your help! The owner's manual wasn't very informative...

Replace the icemaker . The laser receiver (on right side ) is supposed to blink twice then pause then twice repeatedly .Normal. Also clean the coils under fridge .

How can I fix a squeaking refrigerator door when it opens and closes? I already tried WD40 and it had no effect.

You need to add a lubricant like a silicone based grease to the hinges. Your model uses small cams on the tops of the hinge that correlate with cams on the bottoms of the door. Make sure the cams do not appear to be excessively worn down and when you apply your grease have a helper lift up on the door so that you can get the grease in between the cams.

if youd like you can remove the affected crisper, locate the "adjustment slidelever" and remove it, behind there youll find a hole(which is what youve been restricting to lessen the cold air flow.) try wadding up a ball of perma-gum, window sealer, some sorta plug forthe hole, its not nessecary for function of refrig, only to make the crispers colder, but usually too cold. blocking of fthe hole willl make the crispers only as cold as rest of refrig

Freezer is working fine. The refrigerator was working until this morning...woke up to warm milk (and everything else). When the freezer is running there is cold air flowing into the frig via the top vent but not the bottom one. When the freezer is not running, no cold air is flowing to frig. Any ideas?

Good day, lots of reasons an ice maker will stop making ice. Just take a step by step procedure and it will solve the problem.
The freezer must be at normal temperature. At least 12 degrees or colder.
First step is to take a small paper cup of water and fill the cavity until it is near full. With the ice maker turned on, close freezer door and wait 3 hours to see if it harvests. If not, the ice maker is bad, and must be replaced. If the cubes harvest then.......
1. The water supply from the house is not delivering water to the water valve. Shut off the house at the meter, disconnect the line going to the water valve, and with the line pointed into a bucket, have someone turn the valve back on for a 15 second count. The water should come out smartly. If not, the line and it's fittings will have to be replaced.
2. The fill tube from the back of the machine that feeds water into the back of the ice maker is frozen up. You will have to remove the ice maker to visually inspect that tube. If blocked, it needs to be defrosted, but use caution. Too much heat too fast will start to melt plastic and vinyl parts you don't want melted.
If this is the case, then once cleaned out, you will have to change the water valve located in the back bottom rear of the machine because it is leaking during the off cycle.
3. If everything checks O.K. up to this point, you will have to purchase and install a new water valve, and install it.
P.S. Under very rare occasions the electric circuity in the ice maker will fail to send a signal to the water valve. Although rare, it can happen, in which case the best option is to replace the ice maker and water valve.
