I am installing a 330A 220v QO in my sub panel in the garage. Does the top clips have to connect to the metal strips on top. I noticed the opening on the end just has a plastic peg.

A Square D QOABB is a QO style circuit breaker, as determined by the "QO". A represents the number of poles; and can be 1, 2 or 3. This number also represent the number of spaces it requires in the panel (NOT the cover). "BB" represents the Amp rating of the handle. Common values are 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and beyond. A Square D QO3100 (3Pole 100A) is pictured below:4_3_2012_9_51_45_pm.jpg A Square D QOTXXYY is a tandem circuit breaker. "T" represents Tandem. "XX" is the amp rating of one handle and "YY" is the amp rating of the second handle. It occupies one singe slot in the panel (again, NOT the cover). It look like this QOT2020 (A single pole breaker with tandem 20 amp handles) below:4_3_2012_9_45_55_pm.jpgThe clip under terminal screws engages the panel's "rail", and the other clip(s) must engage the panel's powered bus or "metal" strips as you called them. If you are installing a QO230, BOTH clips MUST engage. If only one engages, you will only have 120 Volts to ground, and may not be able to put the panel cover on. I hope this helps and good luck!

Square D circuit breaker in a home fuse panel and I have already replaced the breaker with a new one.

i strongly recommend that you get in an electrician to investigate the problem from your description of the amount of power required from your circuit breaker I would consider that there are to power wires from the back of that unit one circuit to run half the points and another wire to run the rest If only 1/2 are working, I am thinking that one of the wires at the back of the breakers is loose or come undone/broken and that will require the services of an electrician To further explain this line of thought, each circuit in a house is designed to carry a maxim of 10 amp total (wire current capacity) so that with all outlets in operation the maximum current is 10 amps if the required current allowed exceeds that the electricians break the numbers up so that a second circuit is employed again up to 10 amps max if again there was a requirement that exceeded the 20 amps ( circuit breaker amp) a second circuit breaker would be installed and a 3rd circuit and so on

WHAT IS THE LINE SPACING ON 440V LINE

You can put 440 in conduit as long as it's insulation is rated accordingly @ 600 volt. Exposed conductors is another issue. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/lisa_52daba487e5b4d53

Snow Storm today knocked out main power to everyone in our area for a few hours. Ever since power was restored, our 200 AMP Main trips every 2.5 to 3 hours.

Could be major safety issue. They trip when too much amperage cause them to heat up and trip the bimetal. Get an electrician now, please.

On a 60 FT. run using 12/2/G wire can I use a 25amp. breaker safely?

The size of the breaker that you are going to use on a circuit is predicated on the current draw of the appliance(s) you have on the circuit. Assume you have them all turned on, add up their respective amperages and , voila, you have a close approximation of the size of the breaker. If you do not know the amperage look for watts info. Divide the latter by voltage of 115 and you will arrive at the amps used.
