I have a Lincoln 305g welder with digital readout and the amperage reading is fluctuating wildly but doesn't affect amperage to stinger,do I simply need to replace the digital display

the digital display is just showing what is going on the amperage is controlled by the voltage setting so the problem is most likely in the voltage regulator take it in for a proper diagnosis and quote but guessing the fault is like throwing money away

My meg 175 lincoln was welding fine , i shut welding down ,and a week later the machine does not come on

Hello Mark, There are many things that can cause a machine to not come on. Start from the basics and work to the hard. Check and make sure there is power to the receptacle, then power in at the machine where the main power connects to the power block inside. You'll also need to check the power switch and see if power is getting that far. If all that checks out ok, then you have a more serious problem that is not likely to be repaired through a few short messages. Also, do not attempt to diagnose anything unless you are comfortable and knowledgeable enough to work with live electricity. Good luck, Ryan

The tip of my Lincoln 140 welder develops a droplet of steel quite quickly on it. I have the 25 to 30 cfm of argon flowing. I believe I have the right voltage and feed. ???

reset you wire feed speed and the voltage for the thickness of metal being welded it indicates that the voltage is far too high -probably to compensate for the high wire feed speed gas is wasted at that flow rate set up welding screens around the job to stop breezes interfering with the gas at the tip the gas at the tip should be flowing only strong enough to maintain a gas bubble around the arc That is the purpose of the gas is only to displace oxygen and so give a good weld

I have a Lincoln wirematic 250 when I weld it will run fine but once in a while it will pulse the ark in the weld. And is doing it more often. Stoping me from running a continuous bead.

indicates the following problems rusty wire in use-- the rust builds up in the inner wire and will not allow free movement the inner cable is worn and is grabbing the wire in a groove -- the inner cable will wear a groove and that catches the wire in certain situations -- the feed rollers are worn or the wire in use is not correct for the groove in use most feed rollers have 2 grooves and each one is for set dia wire there are different rollers if gasless wire is in use to prevent the wire from deforming as it passes through the rollers

Lincoln sp 100 welder

sounds to me that the sealing o-ring or gas block is cracked ? maybe from pulling machine by the cable?? ( ohh what welder would do that ?) id remove the cable from the gas block and ck both of these items , both are replaceable O-rings are cheaper of course (take care to be looking for trigger switch wires there too )

I have a lincoln idealarc constant voltage model R3S 325 LN 7 control mix weld machine how often should this machine be maintenance and what is some signs that it needs to be maintenance

There is very little maintenance that needs to be done. Take the covers off of both the wire feeder and the welder and gently blow out the dirt. Do not just blast everything with air as you could create problems. If everything is working right don't worry about anything else.

My lincoln ranger 8 has excessive weld spatter compared and the auto idle dosent kick in very fast when I strike off to weld delayed or sticks my rod. My other ranger 8 no issue same heats. Also

weld current and idle control on this machine is controlled by the main circuit board, you mention that you a second ranger 8 that does not exhibit the same problem, you are fortunate in this, remove the board from the functioning machine, install it into the troubled machine, this should correct your problem, you can contact a weld supply store to purchase a replacement pc board

How can I fix the high low idle , the only way it works is manually, it wont go up when I strik, or with power tools?

If this is a Lincoln Ranger, could be the switch or the circuit board.

Brand new Lincoln pro-mig140 will not arc at all what can the problem

all wiring connected inside by the wire reel, like where the power comes into that area so you can reverse the polarity. is the machine powering up? Lights on front, fan running etc? wire moving through liner? Check your ground clamp wire, make sure the liner is making contact inside the gun tip. Check plug wiring on both the welder and the socket, makes sure they are both wired correctly as well as tightened down securely/ I've seen plugs that were new from factory but had 1 wire not connected to a post, cut too short and just left it. also check that the outlet is wired the same as the plug on the machine. they need to have the 2 hot wires correct you'll see red, black, white & green. red & black are hot and need to go to the red and black from the wall.
