Put equal amounts rice and water (up to 3 cups only) in liner pot, plug in, put lid on, flip little front switch. 10-15 minutes later it will be done and the pot will switch to "warm" mode by itself. Gently fluff with paddle before serving. You can also add salt or other seasonings to the water/rice mixture before starting.

Actually you use about 2/3 cup to make 1 cup of finished rice....there are lines in the pot to show you how much water you need...

Any power cord that can fit the two pin socket on the hot tray will support 1000Watts 10A . Modern power cables are designed to support more than that. What matters is the connection.

Original Salton power cables are difficult to find , here one on Ebay: Extra Long Cord Fits Salton Hotray/presto Salad Shooter.

I wonder if a standard two prongs connector power cord will fit the Hot tray socket, in that case you can by the cord at a local shop paying about $3: Replacement AC Power Cord w/Narrow/Wide Panasonic Tip : 65-403P
