There will be a power application which came pre-installed on the OS. Easiest way to stop it starting is Start-Run- MSCONFIG and choose startup items tab, unselect all options and reboot. Confirm the problem is gone and then reselect startup options one by one (with a reboot inbetween) until you find the troublesome item, leave that unselected
