Why is my compact flash write protected?

The write protection is usually enabled by flipping an extremely tiny switch on either the side of the card or the adapter you may be using. Write protection keeps your data safe from being over-written.

What does the card error mean

Can be lots of things. Would have been handy, if you had told what card you are using. Your camera can work with CompactFlash, Microdrive and xD-Picture cards. If you did not insert the card(s) you are using, correct, or you removed the card in a wrong way, you could have damaged the cardholder, causing an error you probably can't repair yourself. The CF and Microdrive you can remove by pressing the eject button. The xD-Picture card you can remove by pressing in the card, and release it. The card comes out. Then you could have damaged the file system, by opening the card cover, while the card access lamp was blinking. What ever card was in, the filesystem can be damaged. Then you can have two cards in, Both, o CF of Microdrive and a xD picture card. Some settings are required for the camera, to know hat card it should use. If you have an Microdrive, the drive can be damaged, by a magnetic file, or the drive just stopped rotating. A micro drive is actual a miniature spinning hard drive. First check if the memory card is inserted correct. Eventually, remove it and check all contacts, on the card and in the camera. Then try formatting the card. If you think there could be important pictures on the card, put it in a external card reader and use a recovery program, to see you can recover the pictures on your computer. Programs can be found on the net. If you can't format the card, check if you have a Microdrive. If so, try to replace that with a CF or xD card. I hope something is to any use for you. Next time, please give us some more details. I know you exactly see and know what is not working, but we only can use your description. And only what you give us.

How to clear an sd card

The best way to clear your card is to format it. There should be a "Format" command somewhere in the menu system, probably under "Setup." Since you neglected to specify the model of your camera I'm afraid I can't point you to the exact location.

  • The Olympus Stylus 300 camera works with xD-Picture cards, including the 2GB Type M+ card. But it's important to make sure the camera can use that particular type and size of xD card by checking the camera's specifications and list of compatible devices.

My Olympus fe320 has a blurry screen & takes blurry pics. Is there a fix / solution to this?

Could be a steamed up lense or just dirt from storage. It is over 10 years old so possibly past its best by date but take it to a photographic shop and ask them for an estimate.

Olympus Tough T-100 12.0MP Digital Camera. How can I fix it? It is still not working.

Question edited for clarity. It sounds like your battery has failed or have you tried two of them? Is there a date on the battery? They don't last forever. Check the charger for output using a digital multimeter. Also try cleaning the battery contacts on the battery and in the camera. https://www.google.com/search?q=olympus+t100+battery Powered with a LI-80B Lithium-ion battery (recharged via the included AC adapter) you can enjoy shooting the T-100 for about 190 photos per full battery charge. ..

WHEN I TURN MY OLYMPUS ON IT GOES RIGHT TO "ZOOM ERROR" THEN SHUT OFF. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

When your Olympus camera goes straight to "Zoom Error" and then turns off, it is likely that there is an issue with the camera's lens mechanism. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Turn off the camera and remove the battery and memory card. Then, wait for a few minutes before re-inserting them and turning the camera back on.
  2. Gently move the lens back and forth with your fingers to see if it can be moved and if it is stuck.
  3. Use a can of compressed air to blow dust and debris out of the lens mechanism.
  4. Check the lens for any physical damage such as cracks or dents.
  5. Try using the camera without the zoom function to see if it still turns off.
  6. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to keep in mind that the Olympus camera is an older model camera, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services. If the camera is still under warranty, you may be able to get it repaired or replaced by the manufacturer.

  2. Try gently tapping the camera on a flat surface to try and realign the lens.
  3. Check the lens for any dirt or debris that may be blocking the movement of the lens. Clean the lens with a soft, dry cloth.
  4. Check the lens for any physical damage like dents or cracks.
  5. Try using the camera without the zoom function to see if it still turns off.
  6. Contact Olympus customer support: If you have tried all the above steps and the camera is still not working, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
