we have a La Pavoni epg-8 Latte machine. When I turn it on steam escapes through the cap of the boiler. We have only used it about a dozen times, so its practically new. the O-ring appears to be in good shape. I don't know if I lost a piece on the inside of the cap. If I look inside of the cap of the boiler I see a hole in the center. If I fill the cap with water it seems to drain out the center hole. What am I missing?

I have a La Pavoni Professional (Brass and Copper???) that was given to me by someone who's husband had passed away and it has been sitting unused for about 5 years. It wouldn't heat up, and upon inspection the heating element is fried (the coils are soft and broken). I'm sure that it needs new gaskets and obviously the element at the very least. My question is, does anyone now if it is cost prohibitive to fix something like this, or should I just buy a new one?
