INGLIS model IA76700 motor wont start - drum seems to be hard to rotate to rotate and is loose front to back and up and down motion is possible when moved by hand. Motor buzzes when start button is pressed, drum turns very slowly, belt is not slipping. I assume drum bearing surfaces are worn and causing excessive friction and stalling the motor. Is this a DIY fix or a major repair?

I have a Simpson 8kg EZI Sensor top loading washing machine. It's just over 12 months old. All it wants to do is soil garmets, tie them in knots and leave soap trails on the clothing. I use the recomended soap liguid for a front loader and high efficency machine. What do I do? I've had a mechnaic out to look at the machine, except for supposedly descaling the machine, he proved next to worthless. Since he's been I think the machine is worse, not better. I have replaced the lint bag, and now I have little black pieces on my clothing! At the moment I am seriously considering buying a new machine, which will be anyhting but a SIMPSON! Perhaps you can help?
