I have a Hamilton Beach Arnold Model 31 juice extractor. Probably dates to the 1930's. It is hand cranked. It has a small hole for lubricating the bar that connects to the rack-and-pinion mechanism. This part is gummed up and makes it hard to crank. I have the handle off and the cap off the other side which allows you to see the gear that interacts with the rod that goes up and down. How do I get the rod off so I can clean it and lube it? Do I need a gear puller or is the gear screwed onto the rod that the handle turns?
