I have a fairly new desktop (XP Pro, one SATA HD, 1GB memory). Recently BSOD plagues my computer with different errors...atapi, winsys...Yesterday, after reformatting the drive and installing all the new updates and needed software, the machine kept rebooting with no operating system found. Now, Im lucky to get my keyboard to work (num lock indicator light). Sometimes the keyboard, monitor works but usually does not. Tried unplugging/remove CMOS battery. Sometimes it allows me to get into setup where the machine will then attempt to reboot. Most of the time the monitor shows nothing and does not show normal boot process. Once or twice I got 'Starting System' and thats it. No other activity. I am wondering if this is Motherboard or or processor or power supply. Can anyone offer insight or other diagnostics for this?

i have a yellow light and test switch on psu doesnt work, no fans computer wont boot my computer quit booting, it had done this once or twice before... but now it will not boot at all. i have a yellow light on front of tower, the fan on my power supply is not working and neither is test switch, but i know it is getting power because my brother got shocked. i used compressed air n blew out tower but not power supply. i have a green light on my motherboard
i replaced the power supply still no power, i was online and the computer just lost power
