My workstation now has a Compaq Smart Array 3200 connected to a Compaq LVD Backplane with 6 x 10K - 18.2GB HDDS. This is a first time hardware configuration and I'm using Win XP Pro as Admin. On boot, the RAID controller initializes, and detects 1 logical drive. Device Manager shows a Compaq Disk Array SCSI disk device, a Smart Array 3200 Controller, an Adaptec AHA 2940W SCSI Controller, and an IBM PCI to PCI controller. The Compaq Array Configuration Utility shows an array (RAID 0, 100GB) using IDs 0,1,2,3,4,5 for the 6 drives. I have all 6 green LEDs on the backplane and the drives are spinning. The problem is I don't get a drive letter in Windows Explorer and in the boot sequence, using SCSI Select, it only sees SCSI ID 7 for the Adaptec, but none of the drives show up. Any thoughts on this?
