stand alone 4 camera dvr. after 2 years use ghost intermitedly appears in background of images, sometimes dvr disconnects from cameras and triggers alarm . Not all channels have this problem simultaneously. What part do you think is at fault?

Hi I'm having problems upgrading my Samsung SHR-2042 DVR. I start with working firmware version 1.72 then I upgrade it to temporary version 2.17 with no problems (using USB disk on key). When I'm trying upgrading it to the final 2.28 I'm having the followings problems; 1. DVR comes out with some HD problems that need to be check/replace. 2. When trying upgrading with USB disk on key; the USB option is not selectable. 3. When trying upgrading it using ''SmartViewer 2.0 for ProDVR'' after firmware download finishing it come out with fail message. Any idea for this mess after starting with working DVR?
