I have an original Microsoft Xbox Video Gaming System that has a couple problems. I have a Philips [Model: VAD6011/21(POS)] DVD Drive. A Western Digital [Model: WD80EB-00CGH0] Hard Drive. I dont know whats under it, I've never messed with anything under the DVD and hard drives, so it should be all original parts. At the moment my Xbox will give me the red ring of doom (not the first time I've had that happen), saying that I need service, blah blah blah, and there is no number on the sides of the screen or whatever people are saying is their. The first time I got the red ring of doom, I bought a new DVD Disk drive. That worked. The second time I didn't play it for a couple of months and it started working. Now I'm getting it again, for the third time (at least I think its the third time) and I have no clue what to do. I have not played it for a couple of months. It wont work! What should I do to be able to play my original Microsoft Xbox (like 7 years old) again? Also, when I didn't get the red ring of doom, I would usually get a sound like this "click click, click click, click click..." from my DVD Drive and I couldn't play anything. I got it to work by unscrewing the the front "cage" off of the system and unplugging everything and plugging them back in. That almost worked every time. Was I doing something wrong, is that why I'm getting the red ring of doom? Answers please!
