2003 Yamaha V Star Custom "ignition" Questions

Key will not turn in ignition in Vstar 650. Is Key will not turn in ignition in Vstar 650. Is this an indicator of another problem or something not set right? The key does seem to clunk when inserted.

gettin absolutely no spark. bike's ignition was busted by previous owner and hot wired with a toggle switch that worked at some point. any ideas Hi and welcome to FixYa, Initially, on a 'no spark' ...

...I have lost my key to my vstar, but I have a separate gas tank key (don't ask). I want to have the ignition key cylinder rekeyed to the same as the gas tank key. I have the tank off, but I can't
