1980 Yamaha XJ 650 "xj650 parts" Questions

bought 1980 yamaha xj650 maxim.. why can't I find parts? can i use parts from a 1981 650? ty there is not much difference between those 2 engines. they are the same cc and both are in-line 4 cylinders
