side play on crank. This is a barn find 86' Kaw. KX 500 with no rod play but some side to side crankshaft slop. I'm guessing less than a 1/16 th in. Is this out of spec? I don't know the motor history

is to get the crank assembly, as the rod is part of it. You will need to split the engine cases to replace it. Not an easy job. Your rod should have some side to side movement, but no up and down play
