1970 kawasaki Mach III H 1A "battery light flashing 2004 polaris" Questions

battery signal keeps flashing. I pull start it and its starts one pull and idle for 15-20 seconds and then just shuts down, the lights go out on the ignition, and then they come back on once it quits.
