Kodak EasyShare EX1011 Digital Picture Frame "scan old letters" Questions

...old jpgs. It seems like some work and some, I get a black screen and a bad jpg message. They were all scanned with the same scanner and all formatted as jpgs, some work, some don't. Any suggestions? ...
