auto choke of my nissan pulsar fn14 is not working. but i want to fix this problem. how can I fix it. the auto choke can be adjusted by undoing the 3 screws around the Bakelite cap and turning the cap

Auto choke seems to be free to move, and if i manually hold the auto choke off it stabalises at 1000 RPM i have an old nissan patrol. I had just changed the high tension leads and adjusted the points.
