...has a split in it.. wondering if this has anything to do with it.. also usually hear the electric gas pump turn on but do not hear any more.. seems like it might not be getting any gas to the motor ...

audi 5000 1984 Is it fairly simple to replace a fuel pump in the gas tank. If so please give some general directions. dont think it is in the fuel tank on a 1984 model try looking along the fuel line
