you said you changed the oil sending unit, and tried a aftermarket which worked, so the other option is to have you oil gauge checked. The sending unit may be good but you gauge is not reading proper

where is the oil pressure sending unit located on a 99 tahoe How hard is it to change? at rear of engine, you need a special socket to remove it and it is very hard to get at.
