1996 Oldsmobile LSS "taurus duratec tensioner" Questions

Taurus Wagon with the 24-valve Duratec engine. I cannot see how to get at the tensioner to relieve pressure on the belt to replace it. Must I remove some items to get at it, or is there a special tool
