motor With the shift motor out turn your key to run position, then turn your four wheel drive knob or button to setting that you placed the transfer case in, the motor then should be where you need it

knob is turned. any suggestions I would try tapping on the shift motor mounted on the trnasfer case as they have been known to stick at times. I would also make sure you do have the vehicle in neutral
