hi i have 2000 ford expolrer hard shifting from park to drive or rev. Does that mean " it's difficult shifting from park to drive or reverse..." or something else, please?

...probably an automatic so if you use the shifter to manually start off in 1 then drive bring up the revs and then shift it into 2nd bring up revs then shift into drive and see what happens does it go ...
