it could be transmission or torque converter Dirt in transmission oil causes slipping and if left for too long will cause permanent damage, drain the oil and replace and see if this fixes your problem

he thinks it is the torque converter. hard to help with out hearing for my self, try getting different opinions from 2 other shop. may be worth it. 1 to be a transmission shop if it is a trans problem

torque converter seal failed. As the converter's rpm's increase the fluid is forced to the outside away from the seal. So it will tend to move at higher rpm's. However you could cause further problems
