2001 Dodge Dakota "fuel tank" Questions

fuel pump strainer in the tank not extending to the bottom of the tank. Inspect the exterior bottom of the tank. Are there indications of damage to outside bottom of tank? Is it pushed up or deformed?

tank fuel pump. remove gas tank and remove the fuel pump and screen from it and either clean the pump and screen(or in-tank filter) or replace it with a new one. Its a lot easier if you empty the tank

Tank on the fuel line instead of having to drop the Tank and changing the pump. Yes you can install an inline fuel pump but dropping the tank is pretty easy.It'll take you just a few hours at the most
