warm air depending on when i start the engine. could be your heater core or thermostat ,check to see if your water pump has a leak Check coolant level 1st. How old is the coolant? If you have no leaks

air turns cold and heater no longer works sounds like you do not have enough water in the system, or you have a faulty thermostat I know this is a old posting but I had a similar problem with my Jimmy
