that The bendex (starter gear) spring is bad or the shaft it rides on is very dirty. If you have the skill to tear down the starter then you can replace the bendex. If not, it's time for a new starter

bendex drive gear engages with the fly wheel then the starter is bad its nit switching inside it and you just by passed the bad switch. If the bendex drive dosn't engage then the solinoid is the cause

starter disengage? Usually the bendex motor is worn out. That motor pushes the shaft into the flywheel as the second main motor "the starter" spins the engine. I had this problem in my 1997 Saturn SW2
