constant clicking noise. The second time I tried to start, the alarm triggered and the speedometer and RPM meters were oscillating up and down. I thought it was a dead battery but I tried starting the

battery, unless tone dead, will read 12 Volts when there is no load attached. But put even the smallest load on it and the voltage can fall to that magic 7-8 volt range where things just stop working.
