starts to pump. Another way to check is at the fuel rail, you will have to remove the gas inlet line and turn the engine on, which should pump gas out. If it does not, then MOSTlikely the pump is gone

...remove gas cap put ear close to filler tube and have someone turn on key listen for pump to turn on it will be a buzzing noise if you hear this then try replacing the fuel filter if there is no noise ...
