2007 Volvo S40 2.4i Sedan "fuel gauge" Questions

fuel gauge shows at least two bars and 100 miles left on the range meter! Would it be a stuck sender in the fuel tank?also it doesn't idol very well from start up, cuts out quite a bit. please help :-
