reset a whafdale dvrhd400 tried to tune it in to my virgin media v+ box and totally lost the picture and the display on the front says root on the front if I put in a dvd disc to triy and retune in to

there is no sound. Our old freeview box has perfect sound so its not the aerial. What's wrong with it? presumably you have already tried powering off for 10 mins then doing a shipping condition reset
